Three-Point Contact Policy

Mounting and discounting from a tractor-trailer can create a large opportunity for injury. To reduce and/or eliminate the risk of injury, drivers and Owner/Operators are to exercise the 3-point contact method when mounting or dismounting from their trucks.

Three-Point Procedure

Drivers must maintain contact with one hand and two feet OR two hands and one foot at all times when mounting or dismounting their truck in order to form a stabilizing triangle of contact.
