Marissa Swerdfeger Office Representative
Pat McLean Garage Representative
Elizabeth Casselman Office Employee
Regrets: Rodney Gunter Local Driver
Lyle Ross Long-haul Driver
Old Business:
· Elizabeth gave an overview of the Hazard Prevention Program. Elizabeth has come up with safety concerns, as well as preventative measures to avoid safety problems.
Training packages have been designed for each position within the garage and office, as well as for the drivers. Marissa will be reviewing the material with the staff, as necessary.
There were a few issues that she felt should be dealt with in order to make the office and garage a safer environment. The main concern was that there was no one trained in first aid. Pat knows of a local trainer and will be in contact with him to see if it is possible for him to come on site for a day to do some training.
The other issue brought up was employees wearing protective gear and foot wear in the garage. Summer students were supplied with safety glasses and have been wearing them, as have the other garage employees. The garage staff will try and en-sure that no one enters the garage without the proper footwear.
New Business:
· Truck Inspection completed on Truck #23 by Pat
· Workplace and First Aid Kit Inspections completed by Marissa
