Food Transporting Policy & Procedure
FOOD TRANSPORTING POLICY
It is our responsibility not only to our customers, but to all consumers, to ensure the security of transportation of any food-grade cargo on KBD trailers.
It is our objective to train all KBD employees in the procedures set forth in our Food Transporting Procedure.
FOOD TRANSPORTING PROCEDURE
- Only clean trailers with no contaminants or odours shall be used to transport any food grade products.
- Each load shall be sealed with the seal number notated on the bills.
- The seal must be checked every 4 hours to ensure that it has not been tampered with while en route.
- No passengers, including hitchikers.
- Do not discuss the nature of the cargo with others.
- Be aware of your surroundings and lock vehicle when unattended (this includes leaving the unit to pay for fuel).
- Under no circumstances will the driver unhook the trailer from their tractor while en route from shipper to receiver. Should an extenuating circumstance arise, such as an equipment repair, approval must be obtained from the Operations Manager (Randy Mullin) or Dispatcher (Bryan Spear) prior to unhooking.
- Notify Dispatch immediately if you suspect anything suspicious.
